( Articles 29, 30 of Legislative Decree No. 286/98 and subsequent amendments)
- Completed and signed application by the applicant (Form 1).
- Photocopy of the entire passport or another equivalent document (see table No. 4).
- For the request for the issuance of the residence permit, Form 1 is filled out at the Immigration One-Stop Office, which issued the entry clearance for family reunification.
- The request for the renewal of the residence permit must be accompanied by a statement from the family member who has requested and obtained family reunification or with whom family cohesion has been established, providing for the support of the member of their family unit.
NOTES:
- The residence permit for family reasons has the same duration as the residence permit of the foreign family member who obtained the entry clearance for family reunification and is renewable along with the latter.
- The residence permit for family reasons can also be used for other activities allowed to the foreign national, even without conversion or amendment of the document, for the period of its validity. In particular:
- The exercise of subordinate work activities can take place after registration in the population register or if the employment relationship is already ongoing, following communication from the employer to the Provincial Labor Directorate.
- The exercise of self-employed work activities can take place after obtaining the enabling or authorising title, if required for the professional activity carried out.
- The residence permit for family reasons is issued to the foreign national who has entered for family reunification, with a visa following their family member, or in other cases indicated in the “conversion of residence permit from another reason to that for family” sheet.
