UNIVERSITY PROFESSORS AND RESEARCHERS APPOINTED TO CARRY OUT ACADEMIC ASSIGNMENTS OR RESEARCH ACTIVITIES IN ITALY AT UNIVERSITIES, EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS, OR RESEARCH INSTITUTES OPERATING IN ITALY.
- Completed and signed application by the applicant (Form 1 and 2).
- Photocopy of the entire passport or another equivalent document (see table No. 4).
- For the issuance of the residence permit, Forms 1 and 2 are filled out at the Immigration One-Stop Office when signing the employment residence contract.
- The renewal request for the residence permit must be accompanied by a photocopy of the employment stay contract signed between the parties and a copy of the receipt of the registered letter through which the contract was sent to the competent Immigration One-Stop Office, in case any of the contract clauses have been modified.
NOTES:
- For university professors and exchange or native-speaking researchers, the work authorisation is subject to the request for employment, including indefinite-term employment, by the university or public or private higher education and research institution, attesting to the possession of the necessary professional requirements to perform the related activities.
- University professors and researchers can also enter for the purpose of performing self-employment activities. In this case, entry is outside the quotas established by the decree governing the entry flows. Following the issuance of the entry visa for self-employment, the corresponding residence permit will be issued.
- In such a case, the application for the issuance of the residence permit must be accompanied by:
- Completed and signed application by the applicant (Form 1 and 2).
- Photocopy of the entire passport or another equivalent document (see table No. 4).
